GROUP AWARDED COUNCIL GRANT
BCV's immediate financial future has been secured following the award of an environmental sustainability grant by Brighton and Hove City Council.
The money -- £2,500 -- will be spent on transport, renewing equipment, publicity and insurance. And doubtless there'll be a few pence left over for an extra packet of biscuits or two.

TEN YEARS OLD AND STILL GOING
BCV is celebrating its tenth anniversary. The occasion has been marked quietly with the group continuing its varied round of countryside tasks.
During the past ten years we've cut down acres of scrub, created a conflagration of bonfires, planted thousands of trees, built more steps than you can count, put in gates, stiles and bridges, cleared out many ponds and streams and generally had a good time.

FULL WINTER DIARY
A programme of tasks has been organised for the next three months. They include hedgelaying on the fringes of east Brighton under the guidance of local rangers.
There will also be return visits to Lullington Heath and Butterfly Conservation at Laughton as well as more work days with Lewes District Council.
